As I celebrate 45 laps around the sun I'm reminded that everyone gets to be young, but it's truly a blessing to grow old. Three work-related things I'd tell my younger self if I could go back in time:
1. There's always more to do - so give yourself some grace if you don't check everything off the list.
2. It's okay to ask for help - whether it's 'pride' or 'imposter syndrome,' failing to ask for help just heaps pressure on top of anxiety and ineptitude. I think there's great benefit to the practice of admitting that you need others to support your work.
3. Don't procrastinate - that hard thing is rarely as hard as you think, and is often completed in far less time than you might expect.
For those of you with an increasing number of gray hairs, what advice would your younger self?
Happy birthday, Shaka! Great lessons. Makes me think of the book 4,000 Weeks by Oliver Burkeman.
My advice for my younger self is to "just chill" or "the fastest way to end a game of tug of war is to drop your end of the rope." What are you stressing over and how important is it really? What would happen if you dropped your end of the rope and moved on?

Value relationships with family and colleagues…we learn from all ages in both of these realms.

Great work. People are everything.
